Spammers Not Allowed!

If you’re tired of having to answer calls from unknown numbers or don’t know what to do with SMS spam, Truecaller app is the method. On installing it, you get access to one of the largest world’s phone databases. It already has its base of numbers used for unauthorized messaging or calls. You only need to activate TrueCaller on your device.

It offers probably the best dialer for iOS and one of the best ones for Android. In addition to automatic filtering, you can ban particular numbers and even whole ranges manually. The app also works as a free messenger allowing for sending files, links, locations and so on; yet any mainstream messenger like WhatsApp or Telegram does better.

Truecaller iOS version and Truecaller Android version offer about the same basic features. Yet due to iOS limitations, Android version offers some extra ones. It can record your voice calls (unless you’re on Android Pie).  On some local markets (so far it’s only India, but more may be added) Truecaller can be used for money transfers.

What’s The Deal

Of course, user identifying works both ways: as you install Truecaller, you let it access your own data, and your own number is also added to the base. You also contribute by reporting spam or telemarketing numbers, so other users stay informed and warned.

You can also go Premium for $1.99/mo. That will remove ads, let you see when your profile is viewed, and lets you request contacts via Truecaller.

Pros

? The largest spammer and scammer database;

? Profiles for all its users available;

? Great dialer (for iOS first of all);

? Additional features.

Cons

? You inevitably expose some of your personal data;

? Messenger features are limited.

So, How True is Truecaller?

If you’re frequently bothered by those you don’t want to access you, download Truecaller and trust it with your privacy. As for its extra features, they may be fun, but not necessary.
