Back to the Roots

So, this game is about collecting Pokémon cards and trading them, like most card games. This time it utilizes the fantastic invention of Nintendo – the Pokémon, pocket monsters living for battles with their trainer. So train them, collect them, and show your skill!

If you remember the original Pokémon games for Nintendo consoles, they were drawn upon the same principle. And if you’re new to this, the game offers a detailed tutorial explaining how to attack, how to use energy on your Pokémon, how to evolve and to retreat.

It’s (easy to guess) a turn-based game, so you can take your time before each move and consider your next action, but your opponent can swipe them away with one good move. So strategy, consistency, and luck go hand in hand in this game.

In the beginning, you have just basic decks of various elements (Earth, Water, Air, and Fire). Then your victories will help you to expand them with new Pokémon cards. New decks and cards are introduced permanently; though some players find some decks overpowering the others, and that imbalance makes it less fun.

Phones Can’t Handle Pokémon

Alas, this game is available for tablets only. There’s a reason for it: the cards contain lots of details in small font, so you won’t be able to read them even on a large phone screen. Both Pokémon TCG Online for Android and Pokémon TCG Online for iOS are meant for tablets only. And not any would do: it takes at least iPad 3, though even an iPad Pro 2017 demonstrates some lags. Requirements for Android tablets are just as strong.

☻ It’s Pokémon!

☻ It’s a good collection card game with complicated mechanics;

☻ Great graphics for a card game;

☻ Practice mode with AI as an opponent.

☺ Only playable on high-performance tablets;

☺ Glitches reported;

☺ New decks may bring some imbalance.

Pokémon: Saga Goes On

If somehow you missed this game, being into Pokémon, you need to download Pokémon TCG Online right now. And if you can afford a new tablet for a single game, that’s the case.
