Features Review

Free Illustrated Texting

First of all, this app is meant for communicating in all possible ways. Kik offers unlimited free texting, voice or video chatting. Being cross-platform, Kik for iOS and Kik for Android offer the same set of features, enabling people to fully communicate regardless of what phone they use.

Supported attachment to your texts includes photos and videos, GIFs that can be found right from the app, stickers and emoji, manual sketches, links from your web history, memes or viral videos. If you mostly practice lightminded, fun-oriented communication, Kik has all it takes.

Phone Not Required

Unlike WhatsApp, Viber or other messengers of this sort, Kik doesn’t necessarily require your phone number; an email will do. But it does scan your phone book to find other Kik users, both with phone numbers and emails.

This situation fosters anonymous communication, so there are features for that. You can start an anonymous chat as a bottle for your message. But these chats are logically explicit and provocative; most chatters, first of all, tell their gender with just M or F (with M predictably prevailing).

There are also public chats on various topics, from music and movies to politics and philosophy. You can easily find yourself some group by keywords with the built-in search system. Of course, all they will see with your messages is your avatar and nickname, though you are free to reveal yourself or not.

Pros

✔️ Contact list generates automatically;

✔️ Phone number is not required;

✔️ Well suited for anonymous communication;

✔️ Groups on any given subject.

Cons

❌ Anonymous chats attract people you may dislike;

❌ It’s not equally popular worldwide.

Kik Some!

Despite strong rivalry, Kik remains one of the most popular messengers due to its features enabling anonymous communication. So if you want to talk online without revealing your actual info, download Kik and enjoy!
